We believe every child can develop the skills to build a social mind!

Our Social Skills Summer Camp is led by an experienced and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist trained in using the Social Thinking Curriculum developed by Michelle Garcia Winner.

Uniquely tailored to reflect the interests and skill levels of the participants for personalized learning.


Designed to help your child:

  • Build positive relationships

  • Increase self-confidence

  • Learn the critical aspects of language for navigating his/her social environment


Details:

  • Location: 7670 Woodway, Ste. 115

  • Cost: $220 (Groups will be small and intensive)

  • Time: 2 -3pm

  • Days: Wednesdays

  • Dates: June 5th-26th,
    Second Group July 10th-31st

  • Ages: 9-11

Program for 9-11 year olds:

To enroll in this program please contact tas@thelearningsphere.com with the following information:

1. Child's name
2. Child's date of birth
3. Please let us know when you would like to come in for a screening to determine which group is a good fit for your child:

  • State your child's name and age

  • State preferred days and times (We are open 9am to 6 pm on Monday through Thursday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday)

The Social Skills Camp Includes:

  • Meet and Greet – We come together as a group to get to know each other and talk about the day.

  • Social Detective TrainingInstructional portion of the session offering tools for social problem solving.

  • Social/Play Time – Interactive games designed to increase social awareness.

  • Movement and Snack – Time is varied to promote bonding and practice tuning into our bodies for self-regulation techniques.

Participant Criteria:

Due to our desire to fill an otherwise unmet need in the Houston summer camp scene, participants of The Learning Sphere Camps should meet the following criteria:

  1. Meet age restrictions listed above as of the first day of their summer camp experience

  2. Toilet trained

  3. Has typical mobility skills

  4. Able to communicate wants and needs and follow simple directions
